A native of Austria, Christian "Dash" Williams was introduced to the drums by a school friend when he was 8 years old. Shortly thereafter, he went to music school and joined the local marching band. Although there was no question that drums would be Chris's number one choice, he was also interested in playing the guitar and piano. But Chris was impressed by the recordings of such artists as Clyde Stubblefield, Tony Williams, Yogi Horton & Art Blakey and knew drumming was the path for him.
In 1995, Dash moved to Vienna, met Christoph Cech and Christian Muehlbacher through the Young Musicians Project and studied under the two musicians for over a year. The result was Chris's first CD recording at the Age of 16 — "Zaubersaft" on the label Extraplatte. By the age of 21, he was recording and performing with acclaimed producer, pianist and arranger Makoto Yano from Japan; recording another album, "Am - Bruckner Festival 2002." Concurrently with recording, he attended the Anton Buckner Private University and began studying Jazz drumming. After a few months of study, he went on a local Austrian tour with the Jazz quartet "Four Winds." Dash continued touring during his time as a student, and he performed throughout Europe with Groups like GG and the G-Bill, the award winning Jazz Trio Auer, Pichler, Mandel, Finest Blend, L–Base and many more. His extensive touring led to several recordings. He graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Music and a degree in Music and Media Technology.
After graduation, he moved to San Francisco and later on to Los Angeles in 2008 where he is currently working as a studio-session musician.
